Defining Planetary Health
Join Dr. Gillian Penn, the veterinary medical director for the Front Range Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps in this introduction to One Health (OH) and Planetary Health and an overview of topics such as community health and EcoHealth.
Dr. Gillian Penn graduated from UW Madison Veterinary Medical School in 2011 and has been working as an emergency/ critical care veterinarian in several states across the Midwest, the South and now here in Colorado. She completed a Master of Public Health degree in 2022 with a focus on how our environment impacts human, animal and plant life, and the reverse.
She provides veterinary input to the Public Health sphere including consulting with organizations and teams on the importance of One Health and EcoHealth awareness incorporation into disaster response/mitigation.

Dr. Penn is a lover of the outdoor scene in Colorado, enjoying various hikes, challenging 14’ers and exploring rock climbing. She has 2 sweet cats that share her home, Pinuchitu and Cashew Cat. Cashew is currently working on leash training to start joining in on fun outdoor adventures.
